Wildflowers

sullen stormy skies
spoiling for rain

but far across the meadows-
and the vales beyond
whispering in the wind,
wildflowers bloom

a little glimpse of ochre,
a sea of misty pink
smiles strewn in secret...
for tired eyes to feast
