when coppertips* bloom
on a dark autumn night
a star falls to earth
murmuring of light
along the rooftops
and the shadows of the
trees
a half-forgotten song
blows gently in the breeze
tell me of the dreams
that tear your deep sleep
tell me of the tears
you seldom get to weep
and when coppertips bloom
on another moonless day
I'll be there in a whisper
to kiss the hurt away
*a tiny orange flower that
blooms from late summer to autumn, also called falling star
So beautiful. The imagery is so vivid that I find myself watching it like a movie. And so moved by the sentiment.
